APplication device Control is not suppported on a 64 bit OS

Q: Why doesn't Device Control work on Windows Vista 64-bit?
A: Device Control will not work on a client running the 64-bit version of  Windows Vista 64-bit. Windows Vista's Patch Guard prevents this action . The Device Control feature does not currently exist on any 64-bit platforms.

Lack of this functionality doubles the cost of each 64-bit client since we need to purchase an additional product to provide device control.  Other software vendors  can provide 64-bit device control, but Symantec does not seem to see this as a priority.
