Hello,

I am using Backup Exec 2012 R3 on Windows 2003 R2.

When start backup from NDMP to external hdd always get error "A device specific error occurred". I receive error on the same size every time. For example on one backup after 100 gb it gives en error. For another one after 18gb. Error is always appearing on the same amount of data. Always after 100,225,850 on one and 18,445.200 on another one. HDD is WD 1TB with RAID1 configured. It is working normally. Thanks.

Hi,

What is the specific error? I also suspect you mean BE 2010 R3...

Is this failing on a particular file, and does your external drive stay online during the failure?

Thanks!

Hello,

Yes i am using BE 2010 R3 sorry. Hard drive stays online. Error is always on the same place. I have tried today 2 times and both times it brakes after 109.403.141.120 bytes. When i right click on that failed job in job history A device-specific error occured.  Error Code is E000FE0D. Server is reinstalled 2 days ago and before reinstallation everything was working normally.

...what file is this? Any AV perhaps blocking access to the file? Also check below:

I should delete B2D folder right? Leave a job, erase config files, restart services and create i B2D folder again (in devices)

1) Have you install the NDMP option licence on your media server?

2) Have you checked the HCL to make sure that your device is supported for NDMP?

Everything is installed. We found today link . So problem is gone when backup is done without verification. So thats it :)

We found link today. Backup is done ok if you turn off verification. So that is it.

...matter of interest vucha, but do you get the same error if you create a Verify job to run AFTER the backup completes?

Thanks!
