We just received some new machines with Intel DH67BL boards with 82579V network adaptors, that we are trying to ghost using Ghostcast Server 11.5.1.2266. We have added the drivers (Vista 32 bit) from the intel website:

into the WinPE using the Ghost Boot Wizard but when booting using WinPE the drivers dont seem to work. The machine will not pick up an IP and connect to the session.

Anyone know of any problem with these boards or network adapters.

Thanks

If you have a machine with a

If you have a machine with a working O/S on it, go into device manager and locate the Device ID (PNP ID) of the wired NIC. Then check that the INF file of the downloaded Vista 32 bit driver contains the PNP ID, otherwise the driver will not get loaded.  A simple way to check is to put the driver SYS INF and CAT files onto a USB stick, boot WinPE to a command prompt (exit Ghost), find the INF file on the USB device so that you know the drive letter and path, then type DRVLOAD <path and filename of INF file>   You should get a message from WinPE that the driver has been successfully loaded. Once loaded, wait for at least 30 seconds, then try an IPCONFIG /release then IPCONFIG /renew to see if you can get an IP address from your DHCP server.

HI

Drivers from Intel does not work(may be the device needs OEM version of drivers) and especially for model 82579V.Get the drivers from the following link and try adding it to WINPE,

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&os=W764&osl=en&SystemID=PLX_790&catid=-1&impid=-1

In the above link ,under network download 825xx LAN drivers ,last on the list.

Hi,

I had this exact issue (when using ProSET 16.2).

I removed it from the driver database and used ProSET 15.7 drivers; worked first go.

Have fun,
