  • 1.  DHA and DROP invalid recipient validation

    Hi Everybody,

I think I have a problem about DHA and DROP invalid recipient validation. Would anyone please clarify the following items for me?

    1) In accordance with “You must first either set invalid recipient handling to reject invalid recipients or enable and configure LDAP synchronization to use this (DHA) feature”, is it possible to use DHA when invalid recipient handling is set to drop invalid recipients instead of rejecting it?

    2) Does DHA count number/percentage of bad recipient using either reject or drop invalid recipient handling?

    3) In case item 1 and 2 both are correct, so before sender IP is flagged as DHA, there should have either reject or drop invalid recipients action taken in message audit log. Is that correct?

    4) And if there is some local domain which recipient validation is not enabled (for example, LDAP synchronization source may not have information about email address in that domain), does DHA count bad recipient on that domain (the domain which recipient validation is not turned on)?

    I am running SBG 8.0.2.

    Thanks,
    Nitass

    Hi,

    1) To drop invalid recipients you need LDAP sync enabled. As soon as you do that and the replication process completes, DHA can be enabled. Drop Invalid recipients can be enabled as well.

    2) Yes

    3) Do you mean how this is reported in Message Audit Logs?

    4) No

    Hi Federico,

    3) Yes. I am getting a problem about one of oversea office's mail gateway was flagged as DHA but I did not find any drop invalid recipient action in message audit logs.

How can I know how that mail gateway triggered DHA?

    Thanks,
