Hi every one members and experts.

We are using Symantec End Point Protection 11.0 MR2.

My Problem is that I have configured DHCP in Redhat Linux Enterprise 4.0 which is working fine and assing IP addresses to all those windows xp machines who doesnot have Symantec Endpoint client however windows machines having symantec endpoint client could not get IP addresses from DHCP Server. I checked Symantec Network threat Protection traffic logs which indicates that IPv6 is blocked. Here in linux I had disable ipv6 and also i allow traffic of ipv6 and ipv6 over ipv4, and check DHCP smart traffic  in Symantec endpoint protection manager but still problem exists. I also tried to rectify this issue by implementing windows based DHCP but still same issue is coming. What is this wrong with this? Please help me in this issue.

    shahid,

More information on this will be appreciated.
Please check if you are able to PING the DHCP from those clients
Ensure that port number for DHCP(67, 68) and DNS(53) are open.

Try to disable Anti-Mac Spoofing if enabled and see f tat fixes the issue.

Also, MR2 is a very very old and a bit buggy build.  I'd seriously recommend that you upgrade to the latest version, viz. MR4-MP2 and check if that helps.
