Did Screwed up my global device database ?
Hi All,
From JnBSA , when I go 'Media and Device Mgt' -> 'Devices' -> 'Hosts' -> 'hostA'
I get the following error message.
> The following discrepancies have been detected between the Global Device Database and
> Device Host: hostA
> Do you wish to synchronize the Global Device Database for this Device Host ?
>
> Type Device Reason
> Drive HPUltrium2-SCSI0 Global Database Entry Missing
> Drive HPUltrium2-SCSI2 Global Database Entry Missing
and when I click 'ok'
it throws another error prompt
'Cannot Synchronize global device database because
of a dev conflict ...
This conflicts include duplicate robot numbers and duplicate drive names.
(MM Status 5)'
FYI
tpconfig -d
# tpconfig -d
Index DriveName DrivePath Type Shared Status
***** ********* ********** **** ****** ******
0 HPUltrium2-SCSI0 /dev/rmt/1cbn hcart2 Yes UP
TLD(0) Definition DRIVE=1
1 HPUltrium2-SCSI1 /dev/rmt/6cbn hcart2 Yes UP
TLD(0) Definition DRIVE=2
2 HPUltrium2-SCSI2 /dev/rmt/5cbn hcart2 Yes UP
TLD(0) Definition DRIVE=3
Does this mean this host can only use one drive, even though all 3 drives are detected ?
How to resolve this conflict ?
My set up consist of vnetbkup ver5.1
1 x Master/Media Server
5 x Media Server
StorageTek L100 with 3 drives and 1 robot
All the 6 servers are hooked to the same 1 x robot, 3 x LT02 drivers via Fibre chanel
Thanks in advance

T/N just an abbreviation of Tech Note. Just click on the link in my last post.
