thanks for the link

looks like they have stopped listing the issues they resolve in each release. I think that after symantec bought altiris i noticed that fixes in the release notes disappeared. Looks like still no improvements in the repacking part of the application .

Two things: First is we never

Two things:

First is we never listed every change that went into a build, and we never will as there are a lot that got into anything that's not a Hot Fix and there's no reason to list something that a customer hasn't brought up or doesn't directly affect the end user.

What we did is list what KB issues have been fixed, which you're correct aren't being listed nor are issues that have been resolved been removed from the "Known Issues" list.  I'm going to figure out what happened there and see if I cannot get a revised Release Notes for all of you.

The reason SWVAdmin doesn't

The reason SWVAdmin doesn't change is we don't get really any complaints about it (I'm serious about this) or the overall packaging experience.  If people don't let Sales or Support know the higher ups don't know there are issues.

A few weeks ago we were discussing issues with our packaging experience and what complaints about it we've gotten from customers and there was only one that came up and it was a very situational use case that's not super common.

That being said don't take my statement about not changing the Admin Tool as a "we're not doing anything for packagers" because we are and something should get announced here sooner the later that should make the hardcore packagers happy.

Jordan thanks- repacking

 Jordon ,

Thanks for the updates. i know a few customers who have all complained about how bad repacking is in SWVadmin(i've even sent these bugs to Symantec a few times) . Most customers all want to use wise package studio to do this which i heard maybe coming back after we had a few converstations with the PM of SWV and Wise . If you do repacking in a  enterpise you will understand why repackaging everything in the same tool is so important and a time saver .

global exclusions that you create for all your MSI packages can then be used across all types if packages .
The GUI in Wise package studio is just better when it comes to moving files and folders around

Release notes have been

Release notes have been updated with Resolved issues and correct known issues.

The Resolved issues are a little above Known issues.

Also people are working on a better process to make sure the Resolved issues are accurate and comprehensive.
