Different between Altris Assest managment suite 7 and client managment suite 7....

    Hi ,

    Can any one help to understand the different between "Assest managment suite" and Client managment suite".

     

    I have installed Assest managment in a test enviourment and do we have instell client managnment software saperately in the Assest managment server, to get details information of clients hardware and software details.

    And also where to do audit of software instelled in the client from Assest management suite.

    Asset Management is concerned with tracking your Assets, whether they are physical (such as a laptop, desktop, monitor, servers) or non-physical (software licenses, etc).  Asset Management Suite needs to have electronic data forwarded to it from your CMS box so that it can associate/create Assets based on the electronically discovered data from CMS's Inventory policies.

    Unfortunately for you, Altiris is not typically an application you can just "figure out"; if you are serious about using it, find a Symantec partner company and arrange for some consulting, or schedule a training course which may be available at http://www.symantec.com/business/training/product_training/detail.jsp?pkid=client_management_suite
