Hi!

I got one question about mixing processors generations on different cluster nodes which participate on the same cluster. So is it possible to have on one cluster node (first node for Exchange) 2x Intel Xeon 3.20GHz processor with hyper-treading (supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EM64 instructions) an on second cluster node (second node for Exchange) dual core Intel Xeon 5140 (supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, EM64 instructions)?

In user manual for Storage Foundation HA for Windows it's says for system requirements that 'All servers must run the same operating system, service pack level, and
system architecture'. So does this two processors types belongs to the same system architecture or not?

Any help is appreciated!

Tomislav

Hi Tomislav, > So does this

Hi Tomislav,

> So does this two processors types belongs to the same system architecture or not?

Yes, both are EM64T architecture. I assume your are running the same Windows Server version (32bit or x64).

Hi Manuel!The cluster nodes

Hi Manuel!

The cluster nodes will be running on windows server 2008 x64. I was not sure about compatibility between this two versions of processors because this dual core processor supports one instruction more (SSSE3) than the old one.

Thanks for your quick answer!
