    Hello,

i have the problem, that i get different results if i show the "Windows 7" filter and if i use the filter in a policy as target (exclude computers not in - filter - Windows 7). in the target i get more pc than in the filter result.

    what is the mistake?

    Regards

Are the extra ones showing in the Target list PCs that aren't Active? The Filter will usually only show Active PCs, I'm not so sure about Targets.

Check for a log file in c:\windows or system32 starting AeX...

Or check the log file on the server, there should be a program files entry for the Logviewer.

In the Log on the NS Server i can see that the query for the windows 7 filter give me more clients back as i can see in the altiris console. if i use the query on the sql server i get also more back as in the console. inactive clients are not the reason, because that only 10 and the different is nearly 50.

    Hi friends

I have the same issue with filters Windows Workstations.

    CMS 7.1 SP2

I get different results if i show the "Windows Workstations" filter (340) and if i use the filter in a policy as target (399) (i make target and exclude filters "computers with no symantec management agent").

With the filter "windows 7" , its the same.

Is this a bug or a know issue?

Do some of your workstations have a status other than "Active"?

I have had this exact same issue.  Filters show only non retired devices.  Targets show all devices.  We started changing the queries that create the filters to not include items that are retired to get the targets to match up.

We noticed it after applying the last hotfix v6.  We had 20 computers show up as needing one of the sub agents updated, but 2300 computers showing up in the target.  After running the SQL queries that were originally used and getting the same results as the target, we found if we did not include retired devices, the numbers as well as the items matched.

    Hi everyone

    I find the solution

Only you need is import the Windows Workstations filter from SMP version 7.1 Mp1.1.

If you dont have this version on your enviorment , see the attachment XML file.

Please , make backup before import.

    Enjoy
