Different versions being displayed in GUI and Server

Created: 22 Nov 2013 | 7 comments

I installed a SAN and a LAN agent of version 7.5.0.6 on AIX and Windows server respectively. The Netbackup version on my GUI console is showing correctly 7.5.0.6 but on the Solaris server , when I use the command bpgetconfig -g <hostname>, it shows 7.5.04.

The solaris server is of version 7.5.0.6.

Please tell the problem and how to resolve it.

when you say  GUI.. is that from GUI--> Host properties..--> clients    ?

check the version file in the client.what it is showing.

login to the client..

cat /usr/opevn/netbackup/bin/version    ---> unix

install Drive/netbckup/bin/version ---> windows

Hi Nagalla,

Yes, GUI means, Host properties--> clients.

For UNIX , the version is as mentioned:

HARDWARE RS6000
VERSION NetBackup 7.5.0.6
RELEASEDATE Mon Jun 10 22:34:09 CDT 2013
BUILDNUMBER 20130610

For Windows server, the Version is as follows:

HARDWARE Windows x64
VERSION NetBackup 7.5.0.6
RELEASEDATE Mon Jun 10 21:45:17 2013

The versions are different for the client.

I have always wondered where bpgetconfig gets its info from.

This the version file on my Windows 7 laptop (NBU version 7.5.0.6):

HARDWARE Windows x64
VERSION NetBackup 7.5.0.6
RELEASEDATE Mon Jun 10 21:45:17 2013
BUILDNUMBER 20130610

This is what 'bpgetconfig -g' reports:

PC-x64, WindowsXP
7.5.0.0.0.4
NetBackup
7.5
750000
C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin
WindowsVista 6

(I have not checked registry entries... probably in there somewhere...)

No idea where Solaris gets its incorrect info from!
