Differential backup fails SQL 2008

Hi,

 

change server hardware SQL server BD 2008 placing the same name are now only doing the full backup but not the differential backup. The error message indicates that you need a full backup to perform differential. Was performed following the agent was reinstalled

Jose, 

    Take a look at the following document... 

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH58674

Make sure that you have no other software backup up your SQL server... are you doing SQL log backup to truncate the transaction logs... if so are they falling between the full and differential backups?

If the SQL machine is a VM, then you cannot do a VM backup between your full and incremental backups.

Please check if you are also doing your SQL database backup using SQL Management Studio. If so stop it for something & try a Full & then an incremental after sometime.
