Differential backup problme in BE 2012
Created: 01 Oct 2012 | 6 comments
Hi All,
I will explain my backup configuration before my question. I have configured Windows 2008 R2 server as my media server and there 3 iSCSI drives have been attached to it. Symantec CPS server has been replicated my remote file servers to those 3 drives and need to be backedup daily. So I configured my backup schedule as follws.
Sunday :- Full Backup (Disk based backup)
Monday to Satruday :- Differential backup (To tape loader)
All backups are running without any problem, but all backups are running as full backups. That is my problem and pls let me know how can I over come this.

Are you using archive bit or modified time ? If using the former, use modified time.
Hi VJware,
I'm using "modified time". Is there anything to be changed further?

Maybe due to the fact BE 2012 doesn't support CPS anymore...Ideally, this data (CPS backup destination) should be backed up via the CPS node using modified time...
Try running an offline backup using this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...
Hi VJware,
Your link is not have any KB. There is no CPS node in BE 2012. So how can I backup my data?. If backup exec 2012 is unable to back up these data it will be a big issue for me. So pls help me to overcome this issue.

the TN number is TECH51617..
Hi VJware,
There is no TN for this. anyway running offline backups for the data will not be an affordable solution. So there should be a method to backup online files with backup exec 2012. If BE 2012 is not able to backup it's own cps data we have to think twice about BE. So pls help us to sort this issue.
