Deployment Solution

We haven't upgarded to 7.1, but we are in the progress of getting DirectAccess setup, and we've ran into an issue with it not being supported since DS 6.9 runs on IPV4 and not IPV6. We run SP3, but maybe SP5 fixes this (still in testing) -- if not, has anyone found a work around?

What are you trying to do with DirectAccess in relation to DS 6.9 (or 7.1 for that matter)?

Looking at the DAAgent log file it seems that the connection fails when the client requests a tcp socket connection with the Deployment Server.  This action most likely expects IPv4 style address. I am attaching the DAAgent log and also the firewall rules screenshot showing Altiris rules.

OK, so you're just trying to get DS 6.9 to communicate over IPv6 using DirectAccess?

That is correct mclemson. We allowed 402: TCP & UDP for Inbound Rules and it fails. I've been told that DS 6.9 is IPV4 and that is why it's failing. Do you know of a work around?

DS 6.9 does everything by IP address.  This is baked into the product and there's really no way to change this.  7.1 supports IPv6.

Okay thanks. Just wanted to get clarification. We've already tried 7.1, but dislike deployment solutions. We are waiting on 7.5 to come out then.
