The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed. errors

Created: 02 Aug 2013 | 4 comments

I am getting  "The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed." errors on differential backups.

Even Though

*I have created exceptions in the global exceptions

*I have created exceptions in the local exceptions

*i have created file exceptions

*i have created directory exceptions

i also noticed files don't even appear to exist, but they still cause exceptions on backup. any ideas?

refresh the selection list by deselecting all the resources and than select it back, save the job and run it again see if the error reoccurs,

once selection is refreshed issue should be resolved, this would not happen if resources are selected at the Drive level eg. C drive

After the install of Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 2 - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH203155 and the remote agents pushed out to the remote servers make sure they were rebooted.

Verify that Sp2 shows in installed updates.  Location: Click on the Backup Exec button on the upper left < installation and licensing  File Version 14.0.2004.0

It could be caused by disk corruption.  Use a command prompt and run chkdsk /f.  Make sure you use the /f switch so that any disk errors can be corrected.
