Endpoint Protection

Hi,

I'm running SEPM 12.1.4023.4080 (upgraded from 12.1.2)

The directory  C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\outbox\ImportPackage  keeps increasing by about 700MB a day. It was also doing this when I was on 12.1.2 (I had hoped upgrading would sort out the problem but to no avail). I've already read this article....

... but I'm not massively keen on doing a disaster recovery procedure if I can help it.

Firstly, what are these files? Surely they're not the actual Import packages that I make client SEP install from are they?

Secondly, rather than run a DR, is there anything wrong with me just making a scheduled task to delete everything in that folder once a day?

do you have any packages assigned ? if so remove them

Just to confirm, this is a known issue and is being worked on.  Symantec recommend you subscribe to the below article to be kept up to date:

The workaround in the article is to just delete the files (leave at 5 least mins after LU has finished before doing so though).

I managed to recover a lot of space using this freeware: Folder Size

Same issue here.

To do some house keeping automatically I've add this command to my task scheduler to keep only 2 days of history:

forfiles -p "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\outbox\ImportPackage" -s -m *.* /D -2 /C "cmd /c del @path"

Thank you for the script. I had to modify it to run on my 2012 server.
