Directory structure in Backup-restore-archive window
Created: 29 Dec 2011 | 5 comments
Is the directory structure window in the 'Backup-restore-archive' can be used to reflect other servers / agents directory struture. Or it is just to use only for local file system, then it looks like not required also. Am I right because even the local filsystem data can be backed up via manual backup.

From Backup, Archive and
From Backup, Archive and Restore interface you can only browse local directory structure.
User backup and User Archive Backups can be initiated from Backup, archive and restore window.

There will be no relation
There will be no relation between clients w.r.t NBU. So you can't browse other clients file systems from one.

You can of course browse the
You can of course browse the file system of any other clients from a Policy within the Admin Console.
Once a client has been added to the policy you can browse that client file system in the files selection tab.
Also bear in mind that to do a USer backup from the BAR GUI that client should exist in a policy and have a UserBackup schedule set.

Backup - No ; Restore - Yes
In the BAR node/GUI, there are two tabs - "Backup Files" & "Restore Files" besides "Task Progress"
For "Restore Files", the information comes from NBU catalog, and so - YES, you can browse for other clients, or even other servers, assuming you get past authorization and authentication for other clients and servers...
For "Backup Files", the information comes from the local client's browse, and so - NO, you can not browse for other clients...
