  • 1.  Disable application control on disconnected pc

We have setup a computer policy to make usb devices Read only. The issue we are running into is there is no way to disable this for technicians to read/write usb drives without connecting the laptops to the network and updating the policy.

I tried stopping all symantec services but the drives were still read only. I unplugged the drives and tried them again with no success.

It is rare that we would need write access to usb devices, which is why we chose to use Computer mode and that made it easier to manage, but we have no way to write to usb devices without connecting to network.

    Any ideas?

Removal of ADC from Add/Remove programs would be the only alternative I can think of. SEP 12 SBE does not have any location awareness functionality like SEP 11.x does.

As kurt said either remove ADC from add/remove programs or if using SEP 1.x then replace the new sylink.xml..you can send the new sylink.xml file over mail or something..
