I have a user whose office has several web applications that use C# code to send email messages on an SMTP connection. Until recently the messages would send instantly and everything worked fine.
We upgraded to SEP12.1. Ever since the upgrade their code will stop on the SMTPClient.send() for about 60 seconds. After consulting with our service desk and looking at the message headers the user can see that the message isn’t even arriving at the SMTP server until about 59 seconds after sending the email.
Disabling the “Internet Email Auto Protect” feature the messages send instantly as before.
If possible I’d prefer not to disable this feature completely, but haven’t found any other solution. The user has tried just unchecking “Outbound Worm heuristics” or changing the outgoing mail port under “Internet Email Advanced Options” but that hasn’t worked.
Is there a less drastic solution than completely disabling the Internet Email Auto-Protect feature?
