  • 1.  Disable "Remove Boot Media" Prompt

    DS 6.9 SP4

I've created a WinPE boot CD.  After my tasks run, I get a prompt which states "Please remove the boot media and click OK".  This essentially stops the process until a tech can go back to the computer and click ok.

Is there a way to disable this prompt?

    Thanks.

    Hi asaleem,

That prompt isn't something that is normally in WinPE, this leads me to believe one of your tasks calls the prompt.  If you could provide more information as to what tasks you are running, we might be able to help research if there are any command line switches that you might put in the task or if you can just add a "reboot" command in your list of tasks.

I have 3 tasks in my DS job.

the first one is a run script task which calls a  batch file.

The second is a distribute image task

The last one is another run script task which calls a batch file.

I read an article in the KB which stated that this was an issue in DS 6.5 when using a CD to boot winpe (which is what I'm doing).  I'd hope that it wouldve been resolved by now, but not sure.

I guess I missed where you put that you were booting off of a CD, this is probably by design then as WinPE is assuming your boot order is the CDROM drive and it doesn't want to boot back to it again so it is prompting you.

Is there any reason you can't use PXE?  This would resolve your prompt issue as well as make it so you don't have to keep going to the machines to boot off of CD.

I have a similar request, on one of my remote sites PXE is simply not viable so the use of an automation CD is necisary..
