We have started rolling out Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 RU4 and have noticed that we are no longer able to disable the protection by right clicking on the notification tray icon. We can, however, still disable protection using smc -stop. Has anyone else notcied this ?

I have a password set for disabling, uninstalling, and opening the SEP Client User interface. If I run the smc -stop command it will then prompt for the password I have set and disable it properly but using the right click option from the notification icon does not work. It just does nothing after clicking it.

Right clicking will not prompt for the password

Does NTP get disabled when you right click it? or is it greyed out?

Make sure all the locks are closed in the policies and uncheck "allow the following users to enable and disable the firewall" in the Client User Interface Settings

This will take away the ability to right click and disable

I had locked the policies and that was causing the right click to not work. I figured with the password, it would still allow the techs to disable that way but I was wrong. Thank you guys for the quick responses.
