This issue has been solved. See solution.

At client pc task bar, if we right -click the SEP icon, there is selection "Disable Symantec Endpoint Protection".  If I select this choice, the green dot on icon will become red. Except the color change, what else will it disable? Will it disable AV/AS Auto-protection? Or it will disable all policies like Applicatio and device control policy? I have done testing. If I disable it, the application and device control policy is still working.

Disable Symantec Endpoint Protection

When SEP is disable by right clicking and disable the  Symantec Endpoint Protection service (Provides virus-scanning for Symantec Endpoint Protection.)  is still running. The Real Time protection is still enabled.

Disable Symantec Endpoint Protection

Turns off the protections that the administrator has given you permission to disable.

After you disable the client, the command text changes from
"Disable" to "Enable." You can select this command to turn imagebrowser imageon all client protection.

I hope this helps.

For Peterpan, Why I ask this

For Peterpan,
Why I ask this question and why I disable SEP? I need to block client to use this option because it seem kind of risk if user can select this option. I found the solution to block this option in the forum. But in the meantime, it does not work for local admin. That means any user who has local admin right still can disable SEP. That is why I want to know what on earth the local admin can disable if he/she select this option.

Yesterday I also found the answer in this forum, it actually disable any function that has not been locked. If the function has been locked (like AV/AS Auto-protection), it cannot be disabled even the use select this option. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Thanks
