Disable the Time Window
Updated: 18 Sep 2010 | 4 comments
Is there any way to disable the Time Window in BEWS12?
Ocassionally some of my jobs within a policy take a bit longer than usual which causes a problem with the time window only allowing me to select up to 23:59:59.
I would call symantec support but SYMANTEC SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bunch of entry level techs reading a script.

I agree 100% with your post..
I'm going to spend the afternoon "balancing my weekend backups" so they don't get cancelled if someone rearranges a couple 100GB.
Disable Time Window opttion or DST problem fix
There should be an option to disable Time Window - considering the fact that the DST problem still exist and there is no resolution to it. (All scheduled jobs are missed after the DST kicks in. You have to run them manually first time or reschedule them - twice a year ... and for 14 jobs each time ... This SUCKS. )
Symantec still has not fixed
Symantec still has not fixed this issue. If you call their Tech Support, they will just ask you to restart the Backup Exec services once so that the jobs will hot miss because of DST. My problem is I am using this workaround from last 3 yrs. When Symantec is gonna fix this?

Going back to original
Going back to original question instead of the DST issue itself - as there is no current way to not have a time window, would suggest you post this as an idea (see Ideas tab at top of screen) as then other customers can use vote buttons to help our product management teams get an idea of how many customer's would like the same feature.
If you post anything in the idea section make sure you mention the product (it is a general section not just for BE) and if possible provide a reason/scanario that justifies why you would liek the idea to be in the product.
