Yeah, those are virus definitions that were downloaded, We doubtfully need then anymore.

I need to clear some space on my drive and have a number of files in the /tmp directory that have name: [numbers] jtun_ennluapi.lin. Are these safe to remove?

Are the definitions rolled into the app somewhere else? Seems like there could be a script to remove these files once in a while to keep it clear.

Yeah, once they are unpacked they are stored in the virus definitions folder.
As far as I know there are scripts to perform that in place and the tmp folder should be cleared in the event of a reboot
