Asset Management Suite

Hi All,

We have recently undergone a Windows 7 hardware refresh as such we now have assets which are disposed and wiped. What I am wanting to know, is there a way to change Altiris to Asset Disposed in a bulk format.

I have 288 devices which our 3rd party vendor has confirmed are wiped now i want to bulk upload a CSV or similar for Altitirs to read and mark as Asset Disposed.

Is this possible?

There are two ways to do this. If all the assets are still "Active" you can create a temporary filter, import the CSV, select 20 PCs at a time, right-click > CMDB Functions > Set Asset Status > Retired. This only works for Active PCs as only Active PCs show in Filters usually. The second method is to use [Settings > All Settings > Notification Server > ] Connector. Create a "CSV File Data Source" then a "Resource Import Export Rule". You have to wait for the screen to refressh after selecting some of the options for the rule. Make sire you get the "Resource Type" correct (Resource > Asset > Network Resource> Computer). Then I usually put a Value for Comment like "Imported 28/4/15 - AK" and under Association Mappings you can select the Status as "Retired".
