  • 1.  distribute daily scan schedule, exclude network shares

    rhel 5 , symantec version 11, (save info -p ; 1.0.10.26)

    1. How to distribute a customized daily scan schedule into all clients?

    I used "sav scheduledscan -c 1 -i 11:11 -f daily /" to schedule scan on one computer. What is the best way to distribute this setting to all clients?

    2. If I run the scheduled scan as "sav scheduledscan -c 1 -i 11:11 -f daily /" , does it scan network mounted shares, such as nfs or smb  shares ?

    I nfs mount /home, will /home be scaned? or will it be excluded because it is a network share?

    3. run the live update with a particular java version

    I have multiple versions of java, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6,  installed on a client. Default java is 1.5. Can I use Java 1.6 to run the live update ?

    Hello,

    SMB shares on the clients are not scanned by default - to scan their content, you have to scan the origin itself.

    LiveUpdate will run with JRE 1.6x perfectly.
