Deployment Solution

Hello,

When I try to distribute software, after I made a package, the message in my altiris deployment console keeps saying: 'executing file'. When I go and see on the computers, they all have an error-screen on it saying: The instruction at "0x7c911669" referenced memory at "0x00000080". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the ... The title of the window is RapidinstallPackageBackgroundWindow...
Smaller packages (<50 mb) tends to run perfectly...
With larger packages I'll have to restart all my computers(manually) a few times.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

If you are using a RIP I would suggest searching online for a silent install that you can script for whatever the software is you're trying to install.

The problem is that I have to install software on a regular base (University) and sometimes I have about 10 minutes of time to install and deploy the software on about 200 pc's. So I don't think that's possible.

I don't see why not. Doesn't take any longer than building a RIP.

I didn't suggest using other software. I suggested installing the software from a script silently rather than using a RIP.
I haven't used RIP's in years. All my software installs use scripts.

Then where in Altiris is the option to make scripts?
I can see how I can run it, but not make it. I suppose that I have to install some software like wisescript and that's what I mean by other software.

You need to build the script yourself. Sometimes all you need is to add some command line switches to a Distribute Software task. All it takes is a little research. I don't use any other software.
RapidInstall is an old technology and to be honest never really worked well.
