Distribution List Quarantines

    Hello Everyone,

I am having a bit of an issue trying to figure out the best way to handle distribution list quarantines. Right now we have our gateways setup to use LDAP authentication and end user quarantines are configured with notification emails for distribution lists also configured. The two issues that i am seeing are:

    1. We have distribution lists setup that go to system mailboxes where our CRM software picks these messages up and imports them into our CRM program (this is just one example we have several other system mailboxes for similar tasks). When our customers (external users) email these addresses some of these messages are getting picked up as spam and since these are system mailboxes the notification messages from brightmail are not being seen by anyone which means that they also cannot get in and view the spam quarantine for the distribution list as they do not have access to the View / Release links from the notification email to get to the distribution list. Is there a way for a user to view the spam quarantine of a group that they are a member of without having the quarantine notification ?

    2. We have several thousand Distribution lists, and members of these distribution lists are getting one notification for each distribution list that they are a member of when they have spam messages waiting. So if a user is a member of say 50 DL's and 30 of those have one spam message in them then they are getting 30 spam notifications when the daily notifications go out. I have looked at the "enable distribution list expansion" option however we also use the "Require sender to be authenticated" option in exchange to determine which DLs are external and which are internal and if the group is expanded by brightmail i have heard that this will stop that option from working as the messages will be delivered per user and not to the distribution lists themselves in exchange. Does enabling distribution lists expansion and then enabling preserve recipient address allow for DL messages to be delivered to the users spam quarantine yet still obey the require authenticated users option in Exchange ? Idealy we would want the spam from the distribution lists to go into a users personal spam quarantine where they would get one notification for all spam messages that they have received and allow them to act on these

We are using Exchange 2007 SP1 and Symantec Brightmail Gateway 9.0.2
