Dlink 6i04 and ghost client

Hi guys

I have several clients behind a Dlink 6i04 router that cannot reach the ghost console. I find when I move the server behind the router, the clients can connect (But then the outside clients cannot get to the console). I've tried disabling the Windows firewall on both the client and console, I've tried creating a DMZ for the client machine, and I've disabled all the router firewall rules but still no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

Rather than firewall, this could relate to multicast. Does this router supports multicast and if so, is it enabled?

If there is no multicast capabilities (or you do not want to enable it), could you check if both Client and Server uses the same WINS server?

Client use Multicast, WINS and broadcast to find the Console. Since broadcast would not work, it is limited to multicast or WINS.

Is the router set up as a DHCP server too?  The console proably is just seeing the router and not the client.  You could try port forewarding and/or creating static route to the ip of the client machine
