I've been wondering if the DLP program auto updates the templates loaded on regularly (thru symantec) or not? I've used the illegal drugs policy for a long time and wasn't sure if the templates get randomly updated ever

No, they don't get auto updates. Some times there are updates along with the actual DLP updates (ie: 11.6 to 12.0). You'll want to look through the release notes for new DLP versions to determine if there have been updates to policy templates.

Does symantec offer updated lexicon that I can just update my old policies with or is it something we have to do alone? Such as updating the illegal drugs policy lexicon that came with dlp

This is something you'd have to do manually. That us, until (if) it gets updated by a DLP update. Best bet would be to keep the list updated yourself & not rely on Symantec to update it.

    Lithium,

When there is a new release and you upgrade your environment, it will update the TEMPLATES that are stored in the system. It will NOT update ANY polices that are in use or based of a template.

You will need to manually update those on your own.

    Hope this makes sense.

If this solves your questions please marked as solved.

Thank you guys. We just were unsure if symantec offered updated templates for download or not. That answered that but since I have a thread going, howdoes the keyword proximity matching work (settingit up with multiple words to find and exclude). I have one set of words (first word in box A and other in box B) how do I look for another word though? Seperate them by commas in each box?
