Hi Santosh ,

It is a matching detection technology in which exactly the same or combination of some condition are verified to fulfil the detection rules.

True Match is the marketing term that Symantec has given their policy creation process. See the enclosed document.

It allows you multiple ways of creating polices to detect certain types of data. In addition you cn then combine them together in  a boolean based (this and that or this and that etc).

The types of detections can be any of the following and there are still more options:

  • Regex
  • Data Identifiers (Regex with Luhn checks or algorithims)
  • Key words
  • File type
  • Metadata
  • File size
  • Exact Data Matching
  • Index Document matching
  • Vector Machine learning
