Hello all , the current version of DLP is 12.0.1 . for some reasons I need to migrate my DLP Endpoint Prevent Server that is running on a Physical Server to Virtual.

Please Share the steps with me that I am required to do for this smooth migration. Waiting for your suggestions.

    Hi Outrageous,

You can do the same but it should be feasible w r t the number of agents going to be connected.

Only Oracle and Monitor server are not supported on virtual servers and rest of servers you can implement on virtual servers.

    Also follow below links

The total number of agents that are running are 1500 so I think it would not pose any issue, would it ?

    Dear,

In such critical cases, u must contact to Symantec Support as single mistake can hamper whole DLP. Still I am trying to give u best whatever I have

create image backup of drive on which Apps is installed using linux inbulit or third party feature and then restore the image on other phyiscal server. Dont forget to backup below important files.
The following directories should be backed up on the Vontu Enforce and Detection Servers where applicable:

    Logs: \Vontu\Protect\logs directory
    Keystore: \Vontu\Protect\tomcat\conf\
    Plugins: \Vontu\Protect\plugins
    Server configuration: \Vontu\Protect\config
    Incremental scan index: \Vontu\Protect\scan\incremental_index
Take help from DB, Windows team for Backup and restore the apps on new server. some backup utilities below
