    Hi,

I am facing issue with DLP sharepoint scan. The DLP sharepoint solution was installed using sharepoint admin account and i am trying to scan using a service account for which contribute access has been provisioned on the sharepoint.i logged in to my machine with the service account and tried accessing the URL manually through IE and it worked, able to view the docs but the discovery scans from DLP is failing:

Error: Unknown error.Verify if all the services on the server are up and running. Also verify if the URL is valid.

    1) I have used one admin account for installing DLP sharepoint solution. Is it mandatory to use the same account for scanning?

    2) Does the account need to be given full control instead of contribute?

    3) Would the scan url be different from the one we use to upload documents? The sharepoint team provided me the url which are used to upload documents. In one post i saw that public url need to be used instead of internal.

    4) Which all ports need to be open between the discover server and sharepoint server?

    5) Are there any other settings that need to be changed?

    6) which all logs should i check to find the issue?

Any suggestions on the troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance..

    Thanks & Regards,

    Dileep,

You will need to make sure the SP Plugin is installed on the server that you are pointing to. Is the URL the same server as the SP web farm? The plugin needs to be on ALL of the servers that are part of the Farm.

So it looks like you are getting an issue with the plugin and possibly the URL.. if it was a user name issue it would say a bit more on the access.

The URL needs to be the actual site name and not a DNS name or something like that.. needs to be the real site URL.

At least maybe use the ADMIN level account to test the access.

    Thanks
