  • 1.  DNS Validation does not work

    The DNS Validation does not work, because SMG can not query the l8jbvgbtpf3r9e.8 ap47eae.na6.bnc.salesforce.com domain.

    The answer is: ";; connection timed out; no servers could be reached"

    instead of:

    Hi R.L.!

    I testet this DNS query on my local workstation and on my SMG itself. Both work fine.

    Did you already testet this DNS query on your DNS server (which is configured on you SMG), and on your local workstation?
    Did you check this DNS communication on any firewall/ips between SMG and DNS server?

    Hi!

    DNS query works both DNS servers and Control Center. Only the Scanner can not query.

    And the "Reject messages where the domain in the MAIL FROM addresses Provided Neither has an 'A', nor an 'AAAA', nor an 'MX' record in DNS" DNS Validation does not usable.

    ok.

    What exactly do you mean with "DNS Validation"?
    Do you mean something like "SPF/DKIM" or just a DNS query.

    Sorry, i cant give you any further hints. Maybe someone other can help.
    It would be good if you give more informations: Are only outbound mails affected? What is the output of "message audit logs", "Administraion-Utilites-Troubleshooting-MX", etc.

    Hi! only inbound mails affected.

     

    DNS Validation:

    Settings

    Configure SMTP greetings, bounce customization, MIME handling, address validation, and DNS validation on the SMTP tab of the Settings page.

    Reject messages where the domain provided in the MAIL FROM address has neither an 'A', nor an 'AAAA', nor an 'MX' record in DNS

    Perform DNS validation and reject the connection if the domain that is provided at MAIL FROM has neither an 'A,' 'AAAA,' nor an 'MX' record in DNS.
