    Hi,

I am facing an issue on one of the clients which are showing offline in SEPM but are online and are getting all the updates from the SEPM server. Although after a few days they stop getting the updates. After running the Symhelp tool, this is the error I have got.

    Details:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error    Hostname to IP DNS Resolution

Status    Hostname    DNS IP Address    DNS Error Message    DNS (Winsock) Error Code

Error    AEADSVI002-FEC        No such host is known    11001

However, for the same hostname, it has a fully qualified domain name to which communication is established. I can ping the server and telnet to it from this client.

    SEPM Version: 12.1.4104.1430

    Client Version: 12.1.4112.4156

It looks like the client was configured with the Manager specified by hostname only and is unable to resolve without FQDN.  If the client was configured with FQDN, perhaps the client would succeed in resolving the manager IP address.

The report you copied from will show the exact name configured in the SEPM's Manager list whether FQDN or not.
