Hi,

In our designers machine, we are facing a problem that one of our design files are unable to download from the server to client, as per the product team they are advising to remove the symantec from the machine, if we tried without symantec the files are downloaded successfully.

i do know which one in symantec is blocking the files to get download.

this problem is coming in specific PCs. Now designers are asking to remove the symantec.

Any help in this regarding.Application performance will get affected by symantec?

I installed full protection in those systems.

What kinds of documents are being downloaded, and from where?  Is there anything in the SEP firewall logs (for instance) which indicates that certain traffic was blocked, when a document is attempted to be downloaded?

Are these in some sort of CAD format, by any chance?

Also, what exact version of SEP is involved?  Is it installed on the server and client or only on the client?

Final suggestion: try it again without ADC enabled.

Could you let us know what version of SEP 12.1 are you carrying?

What error Message do you receive when the download from server to client does not happen?

Question arises, why would Product Team advice to remove Symantec? Why would Product Team compromise on Security?

In case, Symantec is Blocking the file to copy or download, then you may find the enteries in the SEP logs.

Could you open the SEP client on the machine and check Risk Logs, Threat Logs, Packet Logs and Security Logs and let us know what you see?

We have a dedicated group for developers in our network with less FW restrictions.

As suggested above, check the logs and you can create exclusions based on the analysis.

Yes, we are trying to download the CAD documents only.

version is SEP 12.1 RU1.

It is installed only on the client.

No Error Message and all..just cant able to download

If you disable the ADC component of SEP, are the CAD files able to successfully download?
