I have a client who is currently using Symantec Endpoint Protection old version 11.0.4 version. They have 3000 + clients with 400+ servers. Currently they are using Single Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager with Symantec Embedded database. Initially they had only 450 clienst and 20 servers. They expanded the office, but never though of expanding the servers for Symantec.

After analyzing their network I informed then that single Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and single database are not good. I have suggested them to go for SQL database with multiple managers. They wish to setup load balancing and failover for maximum availability more robust network. They have agreed to use two SQL database with Six Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager. I am also planning to move to the latest version.

Can you guys please help me with some Tachnical documents which will help me understand failover and load balancing more effectively which I can share with my clients.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello,

Few Things I want to highlight here is Replication and Failover.

If I am not mistaken, you are confused with these two terms, isnt't it?

About the Documents on Failover, Check this:

    Hi,

I would like to inform that Embedded database support upto 5000 clients.

If your count is going to increase from 3000 to 5000 then go for SQL or else you can continue with Embedded database. Just thinking about cost saving.

You can setup load balancing & failover between embedded database also.
