  • 1.  Does Altiris/SD 7.1 Provide Remote Access Capabilities?

    Posted Nov 30, 2011 05:36 PM

If we have purchased the Altiris Suite/Service Desk 7.1 do we have the ability to provide support by remote access into client machines? A lot of people at my company are under the impression that Altiris can provide this capability, but everything I've seen point to a seperate product needing to be purchased (pcAnywhere). Can anyone confirm or deny?

    Thanks,

I believe there are several subtasks created in ServiceDesk that allow you to pcAnywhere, but I think it would have to be installed for it to be used.

pcAnywhere Solution licensing is included as part of Client Management Suite.  If you purchased, for example, 2700 Client Management Suite licenses, you can install the Symantec Management Agent on 2700 computers and then use pcAnywhere to control them.

    Does this answer your question?
