It looks like this was just released publicly on December 15th, so there is no official word from Symantec\Altiris about it.

CMS6 and SQL 2005 SP3

What is the status on Altiris support for SQL 2005 SP3.

I know that NS6 SP3 R11 is supported but what about the solutions?

Anyone knows where to get info on that?

See kb46349 -->

See kb46349 --> kb.altiris.com
"Symantec Management Platform Support Matrix"

SP3 should be ok since R10.
If Base NS6 is supported, so are the Solutions, aren't they?

Thanks,

the only article I had was KB38312.

I saw also that Windows 2003 SP2 R2 is not supported as OS for NS. Oooops! Too late...

That helped.

Thank you.

Another SQL question

I  thought I would add to this thread.

Right now I run NS 7 on a 2003 (32 bit) box with sql 2005.

I am going to move my sql database to a 64 bit 2008 box and run sql 2005 (64 bit).

My question is, can I run 2008 sql (64 bit) and import my 32 bit 2005 sql DB.

Or must I stay with the 2005 sql, and will my 32 bit DB import to the 64 bit 2005 sql?

SQL 2008 will be supported

SQL 2008 will be supported with NS 7.1 (Symantec Support). Do not use it now.

If you could mix up sql-32 with sql-64, that's beyond me. I would say......theoretically yes. Because not data is 64bit, but the sql-engine is......(i assume).
