The File Connect site only has RU6a available, but I need RU5.

Yes the fileconnect only has RU6a, inorder to get RU5 please call support get your contarct verfied and then they can create a file share for you and upload it

I already called customer services, I don't think we have a technical support contract, but I don't want support, just the download.  Can you help?

Support can give you the credentials for SupportFTP (RU5 is still available through there), but you must call in to set up a case to verify entitlement to download that product.  Since you can see it through Fileconnect, I'd guess you do.  I'm sure you understand we can't provide a download to anyone who asks. :)  I'm sure too we would like to track why RU5 is needed.

I am of the understanding that the 32bit does not work well on AMD processors.  The system requirements for RU6a state:

1 GHz Intel Pentium III for most systems

Whereas previous versions state:

1 GHz Intel Pentium III or equivalent

Also after reading this article I think it is best for us not to use RU5 for now:

I spent nearly an hour on the phone earlier to both support and customer services with no avail.  How can I log a call if I do not have a support contract??

I understand that you can’t provide a download to anyone who asks, but given the possible issues if I upgrade to RU6, I do not understand why i can download RU6a and not RU5.  All I want is someone to either confirm that there will be no issues with RU6a and AMD, or a link where I can download RU5.

I have not come across any issue of SEP and AMD. So RU6a will work with AMD, but before putting in production please test this in a TEST environment

If you will go to fieconnect with your existing license for SEP 11.0, you will just see the SEP RU 6. Technical department will be the one to assist to download SEP 11 RU5.
