  • 1.  Does ghost support RDX drive?

    Posted Aug 06, 2012 01:19 AM

    Hi,

I use the Symantec Ghost 11.5.1.

I want to know whether the symantec ghost supports RDX drive to clone and restore.

If I backup the environment of Windows Server 2008 , Can I resotre it using RDX cartridge ?

If It's possible, What should I need to prepare for backup and restore ?

And how to operate it ?

    Best regards.

RDX drives offer random access with tape storage, so it all depends on whether the manufacturer of your RDX drives is able to offer drivers and control programs that will work under WinPE. From Ghost's perspective, it needs to store the image file(s) on a device that looks like a hard disk or a network share, so if the drives for RDX can run under WinPE and look like a hard disk then it should work.

However, if the RDX drive needs to run under a full operating system then it is not going to work.

    Thank you for reply,

    I couldn't check if it's OK.

After I checked, I will post the result.
