  • 1.  does recovery option override main password?

hello, If I get locked out due to multiple attempts (using mac WDE home version), and I follow the recovery options instructions, will I still need the main password to decrypt, or do the recovery options make that unnecessary. (if not needed it would seem very insecure).

    thanks!

In order to recover from cd , you need to know WDE password.

WDE password is unique; its used to authenticate/boot the OS, as well as decrypt that same drive.

Im not sure about Recovery Questions for mac, but it probably provides current WDE password or it allows to change the current password
