Hi

We currently have 9.1 SBS which is working ok. We recently upgraded our MSSQL database to 2005 and moved it to another server.

In order to backup MSSQL and files on the new Windows server I know we have to upgrade to 11d SBS Premium with RAWS, i assume this will let us backup remote files, and to backup MSSQL2005 we need remote agent for SQL, but i have heard you cannot add remote agents to SBS, is this true?

Please let me know if this sounds the right way of doing this.

Thanks

Paul.

Unless they've changed the licensing with v11 since v10 then yes you can install remote agents onto an SBS edition of Backup Exec.

Basically the same rules apply for Backup Exec SBS as they do with Windows SBS, eg BEWS needs to be installed on the SBS server itself, but you can have other servers on the same network and back them up using the remote agents.

Hello,

You may refer to the following compatibility list
