  • 1.  Does SBG create any date/timestamp log on any policy added, edited or deleted?

    Posted Sep 14, 2010 03:59 AM

    Hi All,

I'm new here. Could anybody enlighten me on how to check date/timestamp log on any policy added/edited or deleted in SBG?

If there's no such option, i would like to suggest Symantec to add it as an optional feature.

I have one particular case here when a spam managed to bypass my SBG filter but i'm not sure whether my policy was added before or after it bypass the filter due to no timestamp/date in Local Bad Sender setting.

    regards

Take a look at Status, Logs, Control Center, Brightmail_Admin_Events.YYYY-MM-DD.log.  You might find a line like

Sep 14 2010 14:11:14 - The content filtering policy 'Policy Name' has been added by <userid>.

Sep 14 2010 14:38:59 - The spam email policy 'test' has been added by <UserID>.

Sep 14 2010 14:40:21 - The spam email policy 'test' has been changed by <UserID>.

Do you guys think it would be nicer or maybe better if there's an additional option to display timestamp at our Policy 'collection' in SBG?

I know it would look messy but somehow i think if we have timestamp just nearby the policy, it would be much help for the SBG admin.

e.g: created on, last edited on, edited by etc

    regards

I would suggest creating an idea for any product enhancements or suggestions you have.  You can access the Ideas page here:

Add ask to add a comment section to policies so a year from now we will remember why we put them in.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the input. I've created a new idea here:
