  • 1.  Does SEP 11.x provide reasonable alerting or protection on the new DLL exploits??

I plan to implement SAV 10 to SEP 11 soon.
I have information from Symantec about S10 vs. S11.
What can SEP 11 do, if anything, to help prevent the recent DLL exploits??
    Thank you, Tom

SEP 11 has Network threat  protection, that  includes Intrusion prevention, which should  block the  IP packates, with this, and  other  Exploits

    Protection Features

Does generic exploit blocking scan for Microsoft vulnerabilities only, or other software as well?
Generic exploit blocking protects mostly against Microsoft vulnerabilities, but there are other vulnerability signatures included as well.

Does generic exploit blocking require signature updates?
Yes. Symantec Security Response creates signatures for new vulnerabilities as necessary.
