  • 1.  Does SEP support Vmware ESX, vsphere, hyper-V, Xen?

I know that it supports Xen - http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/xen

I didn't find information about Vmware ESX, vsphere, hyper-V

Our client asks an antivirus with some specific requirements:

    1. Supporting virtual machines Vmware ESX, vsphere, hyper-V, Xen

    2. Scannig disk images

    3. Centralized management

    4. Support for Winows and Linux

    5. Tools for analysis and reporting in graphical form using web interface

They need 100 licences for Windows workstations and 10 licences for Windows servers.

I think that SEP 12.1 has all these functions, but i'm not sure. Can you tell me if I am right?

    Also I want to know:

    1) Is the centralized management included in SEP or we should buy something like Symantec Network Access Control?

    2) Are the licences for workstations and servers identical?

I think, SEP is capable of all this.

The licenses does not differentiate between servers and  clients.

yes, you can have  centralized maangement, in SEP...using  SEPM

Yes, it is  included...infact, it is the one whuich will be managing  all your SEP clietns...it is like a central server, which will control all your  SEP clietns...

    Hi,

All the features are supported by SEP.and there should not be any separate license for client and server machines.

But make sure you are refering symantec recomandations while installing SEP in VMs.
