  • 1.  domain cache issue....

    Posted May 16, 2016 04:53 AM

I have been struggling with this issue for two weeks already.. could not run "data collection"  due to the below error

"Domain cache does not exists or not valid for domain [AWESOME]. data collection will not proceed"

even after i set the credentials for it.

what have i missed on my setting as below for data cache?

"Adding Common credential" and "credential for windows"

    the version of CCS:

    PU 2015-2

    SCU 2015-3

i have one windows server 2008 R2 for AD server and DNS purpose, one MS SQL 2004 server (win server 2008 R2) and one Win server 2008 R2 for CCS

please let me have any advise

    Thanks

    Ricky

    Hi Lee,

please ensure you have set-up the credentials in the CCS correctly:

    - Domain FQDN

    - Domain Name

    - User

    - Password

    Capture1.JPG

You can also troubleshoot if the user can authenticate to the AD:

To verify that CCS Manager can connect to DC to build the cache, run following command from CCS Manager:

    dcdiag /s:<DC FQDN> /u:<Domain\user> /p:<password> /test:connectivity
    Example:
    C:\>dcdiag /s:dc.awesome.domain.local /u:AWESOME\ccsuser /p:***** /test:connectivity

NOTE: dcdiag is part of AD tools which can be installed by adding “AD DS Snap-Ins and Command-line Tools” Feature in Windows

And of course ensure you read this Domian Cache FAQ: https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO83941.html
