  • 1.  DOS based Ghost issues

    I am having issues restoring an image using the DOS based Ghost 11.
     
    Have been using Ghost 8 for years with no problems with the Marvel Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 Network Card.
     
    However going across to v11 has given me the issue of "Internal Stack Overflow". The restore process stops after about 0.5% complete. However I am able to create the image with no problems.
     
    I have a Network boot disk that was created with about 8 different drivers, the only thing I did with this disk was replace the version of Ghost.
     
    Have downloaded the latest Marvell drivers and till have the same issues.
     
    Any suggestions as I need to create a Vista based image for this machine also!

    Did you download the live update?
    I believe GSS 2.0 (Ghost 11) liveupdate have some fixes for "internal stack overflow" errors (a.k.a GPF errors)
    GSS 2.0.1 (with liveupdate) will have a ghost version with 11.01

    I had not run the update but have now. The only problem is now it lets me get to 3% before coming back with the same problem.
     
    And I can't change network cards as these machines are laptops
     
    So I am still stuck

    I have a machine (desktop though) with a marvell yukon nic and had tonnes of trouble with dos. Though I have had success with winpe (vista). Maybe that would work for you too. I dunno if it works with earlier versions of winpe but my version of vista's winpe had the drivers for this nic already so i didn't need to add it.

    winPE doesn't really do the trick we are after for this situation.
     
    Our ghost images have Office and a heap of other tools pre-installed for our clients..
