  • 1.  DoScan.exe Exit code 2

    Posted Sep 04, 2012 11:47 AM

When trying to run doscan.exe remotely with alternate credentials (we are not admins of our machines) Doscan.exe exits with an error code of 2.  If I run the same exact cmd logged in as an administrator doscan.exe works as expected.

Basically what I am doing is using PSExec.exe to try and run doscan remotely.

Using the SEPM console is not an option since the users of this "script" do not have rights to the console.

Has anyone run into this before?  Does anyone know what exit code 2 means?

I know how to run the command.  That is NOT what I was asking.

I can run the command remotely IF logged in as an administrator.  If I am logged in as a NON administrator and run the command with alternate (administrative) credentials the command does not work.

I have the same issue.  Prindte, did you ever figure this out?

I'm trying to run DoScan with a service running as the SYSTEM account, and am getting the same exit status 2 that Prindte is getting.

This is an issue with SEP 12.1 RU1, you have to upgrade to MP1.

    Advanced User Remedy (manual update):

    1) Switch on your computer or laptop and sign on as an admin.

    2) Then click the Start button then click Programs, Accessories, Tools, then click Restore.

    3) In the new screen, click on “Restore my computer to a previous time” and then click Next.

    4) Pick the freshest system restore point from the “select a restore point” list, then click on Next.

    5) Click the Next button in the verification screen.

    6) Reboot your computer or laptop as soon as the rescue is done.
