This issue has been solved. See solution.

Netbackup, 7.1.0.4. OpsCenter 7.5, Windows 2008R2

Hello all,

Occassionally, I'll notice under the 'drives' tab at the bottom of the activity monitor, that a drive path or two has gone down. I often see this after I do some maintenance to the system, but sometimes, I see no outward reason for it. They always come back online once I up the path, and refresh. But, thats not what I'm actually inquiring about at this time. What I'm wondering is if any of you have set up any sort of alerting for this, preferable an email alert, sending you a message when a drive path drops. If so, are you using OpsCenter or what?

Thank you,

Todd

We use a Unix shell script that monitor down drives.This has worked great for may years.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

I have used OpsCenter at many customers sites for this - works a treat and also drops you an e-mail when it goes back up so that you know it has cleared

I do use Ops center..

1)Alert Policies--->Add--->
2)provide the name of the Alert policy

3)select HIgh Down Drives under Device
4)click Next
5)provide the Drive Threshould.
6)Select the Master server you want to configure
7)Provide the Email details

Hope this helps.
